A homeless man in his late 60s sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Wilshire Boulevard near Chelsea Avenue in Santa Monica on Sunday evening, January 5, 2025.
According to Santa Monica Police Lt. Erika R. Aklufi, the crash occurred around 8:25 p.m. in the 2400 block of Wilshire Boulevard.
Emergency responders transported the man to a hospital, where he was reported to have stable vital signs and is expected to survive.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Preliminary investigations indicate that drugs or alcohol were not contributing factors.
