Two people were killed, including 31-year-old William Y., in a fiery wrong-way crash on the Ventura (134) Freeway near North San Rafael Avenue in Pasadena on Sunday morning, January 5, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:10 a.m. when a vehicle entered the freeway via the San Rafael Avenue off-ramp and drove eastbound in the westbound lanes.
The collision involved a white sedan, a silver minivan, and two other vehicles, with at least one vehicle catching fire.
Paramedics and firefighters responded to the scene at 8:15 a.m. Two people died, including William Y., at the scene, while three others were transported to a trauma center for treatment.
The CHP is investigating the circumstances of the collision, and the name of the second person who died has not yet been released.
