A 67-year-old man sustained major injuries after being struck by a truck in a hit-and-run incident in Madera on Monday evening, January 6, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. as the man was walking down Road 28 near Ellis Street. A northbound white truck veered off course and struck him.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man lying in the roadway with severe injuries. He was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment.
The truck involved in the collision fled the scene immediately and has not yet been located.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the vehicle to contact the CHP Madera Area.
