[01-19-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Westbound 91 Freeway in Carson

At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Carson early Monday morning, January 19, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. that blocked several lanes of the westbound 91 Freeway near Central Avenue.

Emergency crews arrived to find a minivan and up to four other vehicles stopped in the traffic lanes, with several individuals standing in the roadway attempting to warn approaching drivers. Authorities said one person was trapped inside the minivan, and another individual was found down on the freeway.

The person located on the roadway was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. CHP later confirmed that one person died as a result of the crash. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
