[01-24-2025] Minor To Major Injuries Reported After School Bus And Truck Collision On Avenue 12 And Road 26A Madera Unified District school bus was involved in a major injury crash with a truck at the intersection of Avenue 12 and Road 26 in Madera County on Friday afternoon, January 24, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) preliminary investigation, a 72-year-old man driving the school bus failed to yield the right-of-way while traveling northbound on Road 26.

As the bus entered the intersection, it collided with a westbound truck driven by a 58-year-old man on Avenue 12.

The impact caused the school bus to spin 180 degrees, resulting in major injuries to the bus driver, who was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. The truck driver sustained minor injuries.

CHP confirmed that no students were on board the school bus at the time of the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
