[02-08-2025] Woman Hospitalized After Electric Scooter Collides with Jeep in Isla VistaA 19-year-old woman was hospitalized after the electric scooter she was riding with two others collided with a Jeep in Isla Vista, Santa Barbara County, on Saturday afternoon, February 8, 2025.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of Sabado Tarde Road and Camino del Sur.

Three women were riding the scooter at the time of the collision with a white Jeep. The 19-year-old victim was found unconscious in the roadway but later regained consciousness in an altered state. Firefighters and paramedics treated her at the scene before transporting her to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Her current condition is unknown.

The two other scooter riders sustained minor injuries, including scrapes and road rash, but did not require hospitalization. The Jeep driver was uninjured.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision.
