[02-14-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Long Beach

A 55-year-old bicyclist, identified as Lori C., was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Long Beach on Saturday afternoon, February 14, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash occurred just before 4:50 p.m. near the intersection of Redondo Avenue and East 2nd Street.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a bystander attempting to assist the victim. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. 

Investigators reported that the bicyclist was riding south on Redondo Avenue when she entered the intersection and was struck by a 2025 gray Hyundai Sonata traveling west. 

Police stated that the vehicle was speeding and failed to stop at the stop sign before the collision. The Hyundai fled the scene and was last seen traveling westbound on East 2nd Street from Redondo Avenue.

Authorities identified the suspect as 40-year-old Los Angeles resident Christopher B., who was arrested Wednesday after turning himself in to police. Speed is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.
