At least four bicyclists were injured after a hit-and-run driver plowed through a group of riders in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles on Tuesday evening, February 25, 2025.
According to authorities, the incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. near Mariachi Plaza, where around 15 bicyclists were participating in a planned event. Surveillance footage captured a female driver approaching the group before ramming into them from behind.
One victim was thrown onto the suspect’s windshield, while others sustained moderate to serious injuries, including head trauma, knee injuries, and arm injuries. The most severely injured rider was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white woman with a shaved head who appeared to be on her cell phone at the time of the crash. Authorities believe she was driving a 2016 four-door Kia sedan with the license plate number 8GAN606.
The driver fled the scene, and authorities are still determining whether the crash was intentional.
The investigation is ongoing.
