Two people sustained minor injuries after a car crashed into a food trailer at the Lathrop Food Plaza in Lathrop on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred when a Mazda CX5, driven by a 24-year-old man, veered off the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, just north of Louise Avenue.
The car went off the road to the east, crashing through a perimeter fence and striking a parked taco trailer at the food plaza. The impact caused the trailer to collide with two other parked taco trailers.
The driver and a 23-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
It remains unclear why the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
