A woman suffered major injuries, and a male teenager was also hurt after a vehicle crashed into a building in Solvang on Friday morning, February 28, 2025.
According to Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokeswoman Karen Cruz-Orduña, the incident occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. in the 1200 block of Mission Drive. Emergency responders found that the vehicle had been traveling between 35 and 40 mph when it collided with the building, causing exterior damage.
The woman driving the vehicle was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with major injuries, while the teenage passenger was transported by ground ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
The building, which houses several businesses, including tile and flooring companies, sustained exterior damage from the impact.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
