A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles on Monday night, March 3, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 8:34 p.m. just east of La Brea Avenue. Responding officers found the victim lying in one of the freeway lanes.
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The victim’s identity, including name, age, and gender, has not yet been released.
Following the crash, a SigAlert was issued, closing three lanes of the westbound freeway for approximately two hours as authorities investigated.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
