An 18-year-old driver from Etna, California, was killed in a tragic car accident on Oberlin Road in Yreka, Siskiyou County, on Friday, March 13, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a blue 2009 Honda CRV veered off the road and struck a tree.
The driver sustained fatal injuries. A 16-year-old passenger in the vehicle suffered minor to moderate injuries and was transported to Fairchild Medical Center.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the CHP Yreka Office and speak with Sgt. Gordon or Officer Gaytan at (530) 842-0530.
