[03-17-2026] San Diego County, CA – 78-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Crash in Coronado

A 78-year-old bicyclist was killed in a crash on the southbound Silver Strand State Highway in Coronado, San Diego County, on Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 2026.

According to the Coronado Police Department, officers responded to the crash at around 1:37 p.m. at Tulagi, where they found the bicyclist and immediately began life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and assisted the victim, along with bystanders. Authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
