A chain-reaction crash involving at least seven vehicles prompted the closure of multiple lanes on the 405 Freeway in Long Beach on Thursday morning, March 27, 2025.
According to authorities, the collision occurred in the No. 1 lane on the southbound side of the freeway near Atlantic Avenue.
Firefighter-paramedics responded to the scene, though the number and severity of injuries have not been disclosed.
One vehicle reportedly struck a semi-truck as drivers attempted to navigate past the wreckage. The big rig was cleared from the middle lane, while other vehicles involved in the pileup remained along the center median.
