A woman was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver outside of a crosswalk in Long Beach on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident was reported at around 3:55 a.m. in the area of Ninth Street and Fashion Avenue.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel were already rendering medical aid to the woman when police arrived on scene. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Officials were informed of the fatality on Wednesday.
The preliminary investigation indicates a white Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Ninth Street when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway outside of a crosswalk. The Toyota Tacoma fled the scene.
