A male pedestrian believed to be about 30 years old was killed after being struck by a black pickup truck near East Vernon Avenue and South Alameda Street at the Los Angeles-Vernon border early Friday morning, April 4, 2025.
According to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jeff Lee, the crash occurred at approximately 1:35 a.m. while the man was crossing the street.
The truck, traveling southbound on Alameda Street, struck the pedestrian before coming to rest on a sidewalk, damaging a trash holder in the process.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
