A 35-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with an SUV in the Mission Beach neighborhood of San Diego on Saturday afternoon, April 5, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Mission Boulevard.
Authorities reported that the man was riding an electric motorcycle when he struck the rear of a Chevy SUV.
The rider sustained an open pelvic fracture and a leg injury and was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla for treatment. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening, but officials believe he will remain hospitalized for an extended period.
The SDPD stated that the SUV driver left the scene to complete an Uber delivery but later returned.
Police confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the collision. The Traffic Division is currently investigating the crash.
