A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision on Figueroa Street in South Los Angeles early Tuesday morning, April 8, 2025.
At approximately 12:02 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were dispatched to the 9600 block of Figueroa Street near West Colden Avenue following reports of a pedestrian being struck.
According to the LAPD, a vehicle traveling northbound on Figueroa Street at a high rate of speed struck the pedestrian while they were crossing the street.
The pedestrian, whose name, age, and gender were not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver fled without stopping, and no description of the vehicle was provided.
The fatal collision is being investigated by the LAPD’s South Traffic Bureau.
