A 25-year-old man from Escondido was killed after he and his girlfriend were struck by an SUV while walking along North Lake Wohlford Road in Valley Center, San Diego County, on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
According to preliminary information, the couple was walking southbound in the 2800 block of North Lake Wohlford Road, just north of Via Viso, when a Chevrolet SUV struck them from behind.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene, and paramedics provided life-saving measures while transporting the man to a local emergency department.
Despite efforts by medical staff, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities have not released the man’s name pending notification of his next of kin. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
