[04-20-2024] 32-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed Following Hit-And-Run Collision Along Sixth Street BridgeA 32-year-old male pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run collision in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, early Saturday morning, April 20, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the deadly traffic crash happened at about 2:23 a.m. along the Sixth Street Bridge.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the pedestrian was crossing the bridge when he was hit by a vehicle. 

Upon arrival, responders saw the victim, identified only as a 32-year-old Hispanic man, lying in the roadway. They tried administering medical aid, but the victim succumbed to his injuries moments later and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was last seen speeding west toward downtown LA. An official description of the suspect vehicle is not available at this time.

Additional information was not immediately available. Police work is underway.
