A 20-year-old man from Wasco was killed, and a 23-year-old passenger was seriously injured in a high-speed solo crash in Lemoore on Sunday night, April 20, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:35 p.m. on Houston Avenue, just above Highway 198. A CHP officer patrolling the area came upon the scene moments after the incident.
Investigators determined that the driver of a 2022 BMW M340i was heading westbound at a high rate of speed when he approached a right-hand curve. The driver was unable to safely negotiate the turn, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway and strike a concrete barrier on the overcrossing.
The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle’s front-seat passenger, a 23-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Kaweah Health Medical Center in Visalia for treatment.
CHP officials have not confirmed if drugs or alcohol played a role. The crash remains under investigation.
