[04-21-2025] One Killed, Two Injured in High-Speed Crash on Shoreline Drive in Long BeachOne person was killed and two others were injured after a sedan crashed into a tree in Long Beach on Monday night, April 21, 2025.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 10:20 p.m. near Shoreline Drive and Ocean Boulevard. 

They discovered a 2005 Chevrolet sedan overturned and resting on a tree in the median, with all three occupants trapped inside the vehicle.

Emergency crews extricated the individuals from the wreck. A 19-year-old passenger from Van Nuys was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and another passenger were transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police stated that the sedan was traveling northbound on Shoreline Drive at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Speed and impaired driving are being considered as possible contributing factors.

The Long Beach Police Department is investigating the incident.
