An 18-year-old woman was critically injured following a single-vehicle crash in the Mountain View community of San Diego early Sunday morning, May 4, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:35 a.m. when a 21-year-old man driving a 2009 Honda Accord exited southbound Interstate 805 and failed to stop at the red traffic light at Imperial Avenue. The vehicle jumped the center median and struck a traffic signal light cabinet.
Authorities said the 18-year-old passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown forward and struck the front windshield.
Paramedics transported the woman to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition due to a brain bleed.
The crash remains under investigation.
