A man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck in Long Beach near Signal Hill late Thursday night, May 8, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at approximately 11:01 p.m. on the southbound San Diego Freeway near the Atlantic Avenue on-ramp.
Authorities stated that the collision involved a semi-truck, a box truck, and two sedans. All vehicles sustained significant damage.
Emergency responders pronounced the male victim dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as a 20-year-old identified as Evan Z.. His city of residence was not disclosed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
