A 51-year-old man was killed after being struck by a car while crossing Sports Arena Boulevard outside of a crosswalk in San Diego’s Midway District on Friday night, May 9, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 10:57 p.m. in the 3400 block of Sports Arena Boulevard.
Authorities said the man was walking from the south to the north curbline when he entered the path of a 2016 Toyota Camry driven by a 22-year-old man.
The pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of family.
Police confirmed that speed and impairment were not factors in the crash. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
