Two people were transported to the hospital following a major injury single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Via Maria Elena and Camino Del Rey in San Diego County, on Friday night, May 16, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle after engaging the emergency brake, resulting in a severe crash just south of the intersection.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the report, and CHP units were en route by 9:52 p.m.
Details regarding the extent of the injuries and the conditions of the individuals involved have not yet been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
