One person was killed following a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Pomona on Wednesday night, May 22, 2024.
According to the Pomona Police Department, the fatal accident happened at about 10:09 p.m. at the intersection of East Mission Boulevard and South Reservoir Street.
The victim was found by the responding police officers lying in the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. The name, age, and gender of the deceased were not immediately available. What the victim was doing prior to the accident is also unknown at this time
The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian reportedly stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the authorities. It is unclear if the driver was injured.
PPD blocked off both the westbound and eastbound lanes of Mission Boulevard while they investigated and cleared up the scene.
