One person was injured following a three-vehicle hit-and-run crash in San Francisco early Saturday morning, May 25, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic incident occurred at about 5:35 a.m. on the Bay Bridge, east of Harrison Street.
The circumstances behind the collision remain unclear. Officers stated that the driver who was at fault tried to escape on foot after the incident but was apprehended shortly after. The hit-and-run driver, only identified as a 43-year-old man, is currently in custody.
One of the drivers involved in the collision suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. CHP reported no other injuries or fatalities.
Authorities are still investigating the possible factors that may have contributed to the accident.
