Two people were seriously injured after a bus vs. vehicle collision in Santa Barbara County late Thursday night, May 30, 2024.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the accident happened at about 11:25 p.m. on Highway 155 near Stagecoach Road.
The authorities confirmed that the crash involved a bus from the Chumash Casino Resort and a pickup truck. Based on the pictures taken on the crash site, the bus had significant damage on its front end, particularly on the driver’s side.
The total number of people involved was not disclosed, but two people were confirmed to be seriously injured. The driver of the pickup truck, an adult male, and a woman who was on the bus reportedly sustained moderate injuries.
Both injured individuals were taken via an AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The patients’ names and current conditions were not available at this time.
Highway 154 was closed off in both directions for an hour and a half following the collision.
Additional information was not immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading up to the highway accident.
