A 16-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a pickup truck while skateboarding in Newhall, Los Angeles County, on Thursday night, June 12, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim was identified as Alberto C. of Newhall. He was skateboarding in the eastbound lanes of West Lyons Avenue when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling in the same direction, according to Sgt. Mark Perkins with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The driver reportedly did not see Alberto in time to avoid the collision. Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to the 23500 block of West Lyons Avenue at approximately 11:19 p.m. Firefighters arrived on scene by 11:24 p.m. but reported no transports, and the call was concluded by 11:48 p.m.
The driver remained at the scene, and the incident is under investigation.
