[06-18-2025] Produce Truck Catches Fire After Big Rig Crash on 15 Freeway Near BakerA produce truck caught fire following a crash with another big rig on the 15 Freeway near Baker, San Bernardino County, early Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 3:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway, just north of Baker.

CHP logs indicated that one of the trucks, later identified as hauling cauliflower, became fully engulfed in flames and appeared to be “exploding” following the impact. The fire led to a significant debris spill across the roadway.

A heavy equipment crew was dispatched to assist with clearing the produce from the freeway. Two of the three northbound lanes remained closed for several hours, with a second lane reopening by approximately 11:00 a.m., according to CHP. 

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
