A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after causing a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 in Los Angeles County on Saturday morning, June 21, 2025.
According to Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez of the California Highway Patrol, Newhall-area CHP units received a call at 6:38 a.m. reporting a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-5 near the Parker Road exit.
The vehicle was involved in a sideswipe collision on the northbound side of I-5 near Hasley Canyon. CHP units responded to the scene and arrested the wrong-way driver for DUI.
The number of individuals involved in the crash remains unclear, but the driver of the other vehicle sustained only very minor injuries, according to Burgos-Lopez.
The incident remains under investigation.
