A woman in her 40s was killed in a suspected DUI collision in the Harvard Heights area of Los Angeles early Monday morning, June 22, 2026.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the first collision occurred around 12:40 a.m. on West Gage Avenue at Vermont Avenue.
Authorities stated that a vehicle rear-ended another car before continuing westbound on Gage Avenue. The driver then struck a white vehicle being driven by a 49-year-old woman at Normandie Avenue.
The female driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators said the male driver who caused the collisions was possibly under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
