Two people were injured following a fiery multi-vehicle collision near Goleta on Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024.
According to the responding officers, the collision happened around 6:45 a.m. along 101 Freeway, three miles South of Mariposa Reina.
Authorities stated that five vehicles were involved in the crash, including a car that caught fire on the southbound side of the freeway. Two people sustained minor injuries and were transported to the nearest hospital for treatment. Details on the identities and condition of the injured victim were not immediately known as of writing.
The burning car was extinguished by the emergency personnel, and one lane was shut down for further investigation. There is no available information yet on how the collision occurred or if drugs and alcohol played a role.
