[06-29-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Getting Hit by Semi-Truck Along I-5 in Boyle HeightsA pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a semi-truck in east Los Angeles early Saturday morning, June 29, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 12:45 a.m. on the transition between northbound Interstate 5 and eastbound Interstate 10.

Officers said they found the pedestrian lying lifelessly in one of the lanes of the freeway. The victim, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding medical crew.

It is still unclear how the collision happened and what the victim was doing at that time. The semi-truck driver reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

CHP blocked three lanes of the transition road momentarily as an investigation ensued.

Further details were not available at this time. The authorities are still examining all the evidence found to determine the cause of the deadly crash.
