A 62-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision while crossing a roadway in the Green Meadows area of South Los Angeles early Wednesday morning, July 2, 2025.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. at the intersection of Imperial Highway and San Pedro Street.
The man was crossing Imperial Highway southbound when he was struck by an eastbound tan-colored Honda. The driver failed to stop and continued east toward Avalon Boulevard.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not been publicly released.
The investigation is ongoing.
