[07-03-2026] Riverside County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck on Riverside 91 Freeway

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by at least one vehicle on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Riverside on Friday night, July 3, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. on the eastbound freeway east of Adams Street.

Authorities said a witness reported seeing a pedestrian lying in the middle lane and a dark-colored SUV stopped on the right shoulder. The SUV driver told CHP that the vehicle struck the pedestrian after the person was already in the roadway.

Officers searched the area for another vehicle with damage consistent with striking a pedestrian, but did not locate one. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
