[07-25-2025] Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-15 Near Highway 138 in Cajon PassA motorcyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on the northbound I-15 freeway near Highway 138 in the Cajon Pass, San Bernardino County, early Friday morning, July 25, 2025.

According to California Highway Patrol incident logs, the crash occurred at approximately 12:49 a.m. and involved a motorcycle and a gray Scion. 

Emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District arrived on scene and confirmed that CPR was in progress on the rider, though their condition has not been disclosed.

Witnesses reported that the rider’s helmet and clothing were found in the lanes, but no driver was seen near the suspect vehicle. At 12:58 a.m., officers located the abandoned gray Scion on the northbound I-15 at the Highway 138 off-ramp. The vehicle was unoccupied, and authorities are working to identify the driver.

Traffic cameras from Caltrans captured heavy congestion in the area, with northbound lanes severely backed up, particularly near Cleghorn Road. Debris and vehicle parts were scattered across the lanes, prompting a SigAlert. Multiple tow trucks responded to the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. CHP is urging anyone with information to come forward.
