Three family members were injured after a pickup truck crashed into a parked taco truck in South Los Angeles on Thursday evening, August 6, 2026.
According to reports, the collision occurred along Central Avenue near 84th Street while the Tacos Villa truck was parked and its operators were preparing to close for the day.
Victims, who identified as Jose S., his mother, and his stepfather, were inside the taco truck when a pickup truck struck it from behind.
Jose reported suffering cuts and bruises in the collision. He said the impact pushed the taco trailer approximately 40 feet and ejected his mother from the vehicle. All three family members were later recovering at home.
The crash caused extensive damage to the taco truck, leaving it inoperable. Information regarding whether the pickup truck driver was arrested or cited was not immediately available.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
