A woman was arrested after crashing her SUV into a tree in Upland and attempting to flee the scene early Wednesday morning, August 13, 2025.
According to the Upland Police Department, the crash occurred just after 2:00 a.m. when the woman was speeding down a residential street with two passengers in a Toyota RAV4.
A surveillance video showed the driver failing to make a turn and slamming into a large tree in front of a home. The impact caused major damage to the SUV and nearly flipped it over.
Police said the woman ran from the scene and tried to hide at her home about a block away, but officers found her and linked her to the wreck through injuries and identification left inside the vehicle.
She was arrested for felony DUI, causing injury, and felony hit-and-run. Authorities said her two passengers sustained lacerations and pain complaints but were not seriously injured.
According to the homeowner, the tree likely prevented the vehicle from crashing into the front bedroom of the home.
No further details were immediately available.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
