An 85-year-old man from Noe Valley was seriously injured after being struck while in a bike lane on Valencia Street in San Francisco on Friday afternoon, August 29, 2025.
According to local reports, Franklin Z. was walking to a hair appointment near 21st Street when he was hit from behind. The driver did not stop following the collision. Franklin suffered a busted lip, stitches to his eyebrows, and three fractured ribs. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported him for treatment.
Authorities have not released additional details about the driver or the circumstances of the collision. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition noted that seniors and people with disabilities are often victims of traffic incidents and emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.
