A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Montebello on Tuesday night, September 17, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported at 10:38 p.m. near the Garfield Avenue off-ramp.
Officers arrived to find the pedestrian and a vehicle blocking one lane of the freeway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP issued a SigAlert, closing three lanes of the eastbound freeway for several hours while they investigated the cause of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
