Three people were taken to hospitals after suffering chemical burns at a restaurant in Van Nuys, Los Angeles on Friday morning, September 27, 2024.
Emergency crews responded to the restaurant on West Sherman Way, near Costello Avenue, shortly after 10:30 a.m., prompting the evacuation of the building, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One patient was transported to Mission Community Hospital in Panorama City in unknown condition, while two others were taken to Valley Presbyterian Hospital with minor injuries.
A hazardous materials team was summoned to the scene to assist with the situation. The cause of the injuries was not immediately clear.
