A 25-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Yosemite and Elm avenues in Madera on Monday evening, October 6, 2025.
According to the Madera Police Department, officers responded around 7:00 p.m. to reports of a man lying unresponsive in the roadway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 57-year-old Paulino V., remained at the scene. Police reported that alcohol use appears to be a factor. Paulino was taken into custody and booked into Madera County Jail on felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
