A 52-year-old man identified as Martin G. was killed in an alcohol-related wrong-way crash in Burbank early Sunday morning, October 19, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway at Alameda Avenue.
Authorities said a vehicle traveling northbound in the number one lane collided with a southbound vehicle going the wrong way. Another vehicle then struck one of the crashed vehicles, causing it to overturn.
CHP Officer Shanelle Phillips said all vehicles remained at the scene. Martin, who was driving the wrong-way vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol was considered a factor in the crash, according to CHP.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal collision.
