A woman was killed and a man severely injured in a hit-and-run crash near the Hansen Dam Recreation Area in Sylmar, Los Angeles, on Thursday evening, October 30, 2025.
The incident occurred at 8:34 p.m. near 11738 Foothill Boulevard, close to Kagel Canyon.
According to Los Angeles Police Department traffic detectives, the victims, a 46-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, were walking across Foothill Boulevard when they were struck by a red, 2005 Honda Accord two-door coupe traveling northbound.
The driver of the Honda failed to stop, identify themselves, or provide aid, as required by law. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, while the man was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
