A woman in her 40s was struck and killed by a vehicle in Palmdale early Saturday morning, Novemeber 1, 2025.
The crash was reported at 4:13 a.m. in the area of 20th Street East and Avenue S, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale station.
Investigators determined that a light blue 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling westbound on Avenue S in the left lane when it struck the pedestrian, who was pushing a shopping cart across Avenue S against a red light.
The driver did not stop to render aid or call 911 and continued out of view. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Deputies later located the Mercury Grand Marquis and its driver at a Palmdale address. The driver was arrested on suspicion of multiple felony charges, and the vehicle was impounded as evidence.
Investigators said alcohol was a factor in the fatal crash. No further details were immediately available.
