[11-01-2026] Alameda County, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Hayward

A 46-year-old man was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Hayward on Sunday night, November 1, 2026.

According to the Hayward Police Department, the man was crossing at Mission Boulevard and Gresel Street around 11:15 p.m. when a driver struck him.

The pedestrian, identified as Alberto S. of Hayward, died at the scene.

Police said the driver and a passenger fled on foot before officers arrived. Officers located and detained the passenger that night, but the driver remained at large as of Tuesday night.

A preliminary investigation identified the vehicle as a blue Nissan Sentra that had been reported stolen in Fremont on October 22.

The investigation remains ongoing.
