A 71-year-old man was severely injured after a hit-and-run crash in Encino, Los Angeles, on Saturday evening, November 16, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. when a white vehicle traveling eastbound on Ventura Boulevard near Libbit Avenue collided with another vehicle heading northbound.
The impact caused the northbound vehicle to veer left, striking the pedestrian. The victim was thrown onto westbound traffic on Ventura Boulevard. The driver of the northbound vehicle remained at the scene, but the eastbound vehicle fled without offering aid.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the victim to a hospital with serious injuries. Investigators are searching for a white four-door Nissan Altima with a missing driver-side door mirror and damage to the front right headlamp and doors.
A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
