A driver was rescued after a collision with an Amazon semi-truck on the northbound 5 Freeway at Lakewood Boulevard in Downey early Wednesday morning, November 19, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at 12:01 a.m. First responders arrived to find a car wedged beneath the Amazon truck. The “Jaws of Life” were used to extricate the trapped driver from the vehicle.
At least one individual was transported to the hospital, though their condition is currently unknown.
